Where can I rest at Magic Kingdom?
The Best Places to Take a Little Nap at Magic Kingdom
A day at Magic Kingdom is packed with excitement, but sometimes, you just need a little break. Whether you’re waiting for your next Lightning Lane reservation or just need to recharge, here are the best places to sneak in a quick nap at the Most Magical Place on Earth.
Quiet Corners for a Quick Rest
The Space Beside Crystal Arts
Tucked away on Main Street, U.S.A., the small area beside Crystal Arts is a peaceful escape from the crowds. There’s usually a bit of shade, and it’s out of the main traffic flow, making it a great spot to rest your feet at the tables with chairs and umbrellas. If you listen, you'll hear some voice lessons happening!
The Back of Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café
This popular quick-service restaurant has a hidden gem: the back seating area. If you catch it during off-peak hours, it can be relatively quiet, offering a great place to relax in the air conditioning.
The Restroom Area by Space Mountain
Oddly enough, this spot has some secluded benches that provide a decent resting place. It’s in a relatively quiet section of Tomorrowland, making it a good place to close your eyes for a few minutes.
The Large Tent by Pete’s Silly Sideshow
Over in Storybook Circus, you’ll find a large, covered tent that has chairs and sofas. There are power outlets and trash cans and ceiling fans! This area is great to take a seat in a shaded area perfect for a short break.
Tom Sawyer Island
If you’re looking for a true escape from the hustle and bustle, hop on the raft to Tom Sawyer Island. There are plenty of shaded benches and rocking chairs, making it one of the best places in the park for a quiet moment. Do it soon, since we’ll be racing Cars here in the next few years.
Upstairs at Columbia Harbour House
This hidden gem in Liberty Square is often overlooked. The upstairs seating area is typically much quieter than the main dining floor and has cozy booths where you can take a breather, people watch from above and have some fries!
Rocking Chairs on the Porch in Frontierland
Located near the Country Bear Jamboree these rocking chairs offer a fantastic place to people-watch while enjoying a little downtime. They’re shaded and comfortable, making them an ideal nap spot. Also, the parade goes by so grab a Dole Whip and take a load off.
Best Rides for a Nap
If you prefer to rest while still experiencing an attraction and the kids are locked in, these rides offer a relaxing atmosphere:
Carousel of Progress
A classic, air-conditioned attraction with comfy seating and a long runtime (over 20 minutes). The slow-moving ride and dim lighting make it a perfect place to rest.
Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover
Glide through Tomorrowland on this continuously moving ride. It’s smooth, breezy, and offers great views. Just be prepared for the occasional turn or light show inside Space Mountain!
Hall of Presidents
A dark, air-conditioned theater with a 25-minute show? Say no more. If you need a nap, this is one of the best options.
It’s a Small World
While the song is undeniably catchy, the gentle boat ride and soothing motion can lull you into a light nap, especially if you’ve been on your feet all day.
Final Tips
Avoid peak times. Even the best nap spots can get crowded, so aim for mid-afternoon when the park is at its busiest.
Use earplugs or headphones. Magic Kingdom is never truly quiet, so a little white noise can help drown out the background hustle.
Sensory breaks. These spots are great for quick breaks, but can get busy. So, there are lots of options based on where you are in the park. Be sure to protect your peace. These parks take a lot out of you.
Next time you’re at Magic Kingdom and need a power nap, try one of these spots and recharge for more magical adventures!
