Activities

Pools: 

Ol’ Man Island: 3.5-acre oasis featuring a large pool, whirlpool tub, kiddie pool, the Muddy Rivers pool bar and boasts a thrilling 95-foot waterslide. Plus, enjoy daily pool parties and cozy evening campfires with movie screenings on select nights.

5 Leisure pools: these pools are smaller and are nestled in each section of the resort so they are closer to the rooms.

All pools have complimentary towels

Extras

Campfire: Roast marshmallows near Ol’ Man Island by the playground 6:00-7:00p

Horse Drawn Carriage Ride: Take a scenic horse-drawn carriage ride along the Sassagoula River $65 check for reservations

Movie Under the Stars: Check with the resort for movies and start times.

Running trails: Check for construction interruption

Single and Surrey bike rentals: Rent bikes to ride along the paths.

Fishing: go out with a guide and catch some fishies!

Medicine Show Arcade: Cost operated arcade games

Sometimes the resorts will have an art class, but it's only advertised on a poster inside the resort. Ask at the guest services desk if you want to know more.


Activities with kids: 

Ride the boat to Disney Springs Its about a 20 minute ride down the river to Disney Springs. You’ll pass Port Orleans - French Quarter, Old Key West Resort and Saratoga Springs Resort on the way to Disney Springs. You can get off the boat at any of these stops to explore and dine. Then when you’re done, hop back on to finish the ride or go back to your resort.

Port Orleans - French Quarter:

This is sort of a sister resort to Riverside. Here you can find more places to explore and dine and you’ll find the only Mickey shaped beignets on all of WDW property!

What would a resort day look like?

8-9a breakfast

9-9:30 take a walk along the Sassagoula River, explore the resort

10-12 pool or other activity of choice from the list, find the beignets!

12-1 lunch

1-3 rest time (games, nap, indoor activities when hot, mini golf, resort )

3-5 pool, pool games hosted by cast members!

6 campfire (roast marshmallows)

7 dinner

8 after dinner drinks and dessert at Disney Springs’ Amorette’s Patasserie or a Ghiradelli ice cream treat

9 night swim or movie on the lawn (drinks to go!)
